Indoor and Outdoor Bowls Surfaces

Bowling surfaces may be divided into two types: natural grass and synthetic carpet greens.

A natural bowling green requires a high standard of maintenance and is very expensive to keep in good order, especially for Local Authorities who may have many greens to maintain in one area. With Playrite, a synthetic turf surface can greatly reduce maintenance expenses and increase playing times.

Bowls has the same playing characteristics as cricket requiring a non directional surface therefore in filled products are not required.

Woven and needlepunch products are the preferred surfaces for Bowls, and to maintain consistent green speeds throughout the life of the surface a shockpad can be used.

Playrite manufacture over 70% of the bowls surfaces supplied worldwide. Playrite manufacture both needlepunch and woven surfaces from local club level to the top professionals as seen on TV.

All our outdoor bowls surfaces are UV stable and supplied as far afield as Australia, our latest installation is the commonwealth games in India.
