Football surfaces

Due to the latest development in synthetic grass, a dedicated 3rd Generation surface known as 3G is now available for football. These surfaces offer maximum comfort under foot, exceptional ball bounce, ball roll characteristics, good ball control and are filled with a sand and rubber granule to form a rubber crumb sports pitch. They are reliant on regular maintenance and infill levels should be checked weekly. To maintain the playing performance over a longer period of time a shockpad is recommended for use with any surfaces with a pile height under 60mm.

Playrite offer a range of 3G surfaces with varying pile heights of 40, 50 and 60mm, although it is worth noting that 50 and 60mm products do have limited suitability in terms of usage with smaller ball sports.

Artificial 3G sports surfaces have been used to hold UEFA Champions League game, and FIFA promotes the use of synthetic football surfaces and pitches. Playrite artificial football pitches hold the FIFA 1 star performance rating equivalent IATS classification, as well as meeting EN15330 part 1.
