New MUGA from Playrite Improves School Facilities

Northumberland Park School were in desperate need to have their
current pitch replacing, especially as the surface didn't meet the
full potential for multi sport usage. The old tufted surface was
worn out and Rob Farrell at the London Borough of Haringey decided
to contact Playrite directly and see what alternatives could be on
offer to the school.
Playrite's National Sales Manager, Steve Byrnes visited the
school and suggested Nearlygrass 20, a realistic looking, hard
wearing tufted synthetic grass that can also be used for football
and other sports such as netball and hockey. In total 6,400m² of
the Nearlygrass was installed with a further 1,200m² of Matchplay
2, a needlepunch tennis surface that is classified to ITF Category
2 Medium Slow, to create new tennis courts.
The school are incredibly pleased with their new synthetic
surfaces and both the multi use games area and tennis courts now
get extreme daily use and are wearing incredibly well. As a
competitive London school it is important they have the best
facilities on offer, and thanks to Playrite they have new sports
facilities that can be used all the year round. Colleen Robinson,
Business Manager at Northumberland Park Community School explains
how:
"The new surface has been great; it has provided a better and
safer sporting surface for our students. It is useable in all
weather conditions so the curriculum does not have to be
interrupted; in addition the attractiveness of the new surface has
encouraged further interest and participation from community
groups."
