Artificial Sports Turf is a success when it comes to Lacrosse

langley_thunder_game2_397x382It is always an achievement for Playrite when synthetic surfaces manufactured in West Yorkshire get to feature all across the world. Recently, their Rec-Turf product was installed at the Langley Events Centre in Canada to be used by the Langley Thunder Western Lacrosse Association and the Langley Thunder Junior A Lacrosse team.

Not many people know, but lacrosse is one of Canada’s National Sports. Box Lacrosse is usually played either on a cement or hardwood surface. This is why Playrite’s Rec-Turf is becoming increasingly popular, as it is a lot easier on players’ limbs. Not only that, but Langley Thunder feel like the surface gives them a distinct home field advantage as they are able to read the bounces better.

Rec-Turf is a multi-purpose vertical loop, scrim reinforced needlepunch pitch surface. Made from 50% nylon, 50% polypropylene gives the surface a softer feel but still results in a hard wearing product. When used in conjunction with the Rec-Pad underlay the surface achieves an additional layer of shock absorption. Installed by Centaur Products who have been installing and providing quality sports surfacing, spectator seating, scoreboards, electronic message displays and gymnasium equipment to the Canadian athletic community since 1973. Playrite have been working with Centaur Products since 1994, developing specialist sports surfaces together such as the Rec-Turf that was installed at the 24,199m2 multipurpose facility the Langley Events Centre.
