Based in Yorkshire, surrounded by the beautiful countryside, we
are reminded daily of the need to ensure that the products we
manufacture are sustainable. With the decisions we make we consider
not only the needs of our synthetic surfaces today but also the
environmental impact on tomorrow. Playrite treat their impact on
the environment very seriously and monitor objectives and practices
to ensure that both Playrite and the whole National Floorcovering
Group are committed to being environmentally responsible.
As a company we are committed to environmentally
responsible business practices throughout the design and
manufacture of our sports surfaces, from basic energy efficiency to
product specification. Complying with current, relevant
environmental legislation we have full accreditation to BS EN ISO
14001:2004 and appropriate industry codes of practice.
Waste reduction, re-use and recycling are a daily practice - as is
the safe and responsible disposal of waste. Our Matchpad underlay
is made from a mixture of waste fibres that are produced during
production and end of line surplus fibre that would otherwise go to
landfill.
Simply by selecting products by Playrite, you are helping to
protect the environment in terms of the reduction in water and
electricity that is needed to maintain a natural grass lawn.
Although artificial surfaces are much lower maintenance than a
natural sports pitch, synthetic surfaces are not maintenance free.
By following a proper maintenance guideline the life expectancy of
the surface can increase by an additional 5 years, thus reducing
the need to replace the surface and increasing longevity.
